At a glance
Widdo is a flat-priced alternative to PlayMetrics for small and mid-size youth clubs that mainly need to collect monthly dues, track who owes and take attendance, with an AI operator that does the follow-up. PlayMetrics is the better choice if you are a large club, league or governing body that wants a sales-led setup, or if you want families to pay by card inside the registration form itself.
Pricing and fees: Widdo vs PlayMetrics
What each company publishes. Prices change; check the source links before deciding.
| Subscription | Payment fees | |
|---|---|---|
| Widdo | $99 / $249 / $499 per month by player capacity (80 / 200 / 500). 30-day free trial, no card needed. | 0% Widdo platform fee. In US clubs, families can pay by card, ACH, Apple Pay or Google Pay straight to the club's own Stripe account (Stripe's processing fee is paid by the club), or by Zelle, Venmo, bank transfer or cash with a receipt the club approves. |
| PlayMetrics | Quote-based: pricing "depends on several factors, including your organization type, size, and feature needs". No prices are published. | Not published. |
Your real monthly cost, in your numbers
PlayMetrics does not publish its processing rate. Type the percentage from your last payout statement or a written quote to see what it means for your club.
PlayMetrics's rate
Use the percentage and per-payment amount on your last payout statement or a written quote. Many providers do not publish them.
The difference shows up once both sides have numbers.
Estimate only, per month. It counts fees whoever pays them: the club, or families when the fee is passed on. It does not include add-ons, setup fees, refunds or negotiated rates. In Widdo, card and ACH payments (US clubs) go straight to the club's own Stripe account; Stripe's fee is paid by the club and Widdo takes 0%.

Without Widdo
Spreadsheets, screenshots and group chats.
- Open the dues spreadsheet. Check last week's Zelle notifications against the roster, one name at a time.
- Scroll the team group chats for payment screenshots. Some say "paid!" with no amount or month.
- Paste the same reminder into one chat after another, editing names and amounts by hand.
- At practice a parent asks what they owe. The answer is in the spreadsheet at home.
With Widdo
One question, one approval.
- Ask Widdo by chat, or by voice on the drive in:
“Who still owes for this month?”
It answers from your club's records: families, amounts, days late. - Widdo prepares the reminder. You check the preview, the recipients and the amounts, then approve. Nothing goes out without your OK unless you allow it.
- Card and ACH payments are already marked paid. Zelle and cash receipts wait in To verify; you approve them in a few taps.
- The parent opens Widdo and sees the balance and payment history, in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
Widdo doesn't just organize your club's information. It helps get the administrative work done.
What PlayMetrics does well
PlayMetrics describes itself as a youth sports management platform "purpose-built to simplify the unique complexities of running a club, league, tournament, or governing body". It acquired SportsEngine in May 2026.
- Built for clubs, leagues, tournaments and governing bodies.
- Registration and payments as a core feature.
- A larger company that now also owns SportsEngine.
Which one fits you? Three questions
Answer honestly. If PlayMetrics or another platform fits your club better, this will say so.
Choose PlayMetrics if…
- You are a large club, league or governing body that wants a sales-led setup.
- You want families to pay by card inside the registration form itself, before they join.
- You already use SportsEngine and want to stay with the same company.
Choose Widdo if…
- Small and mid-size clubs (up to 500 players on self-serve plans) whose biggest headache is collecting monthly dues and knowing who owes.
- Clubs that want a flat monthly price and no percentage taken from dues by the software.
- Clubs that want an AI operator that answers questions from club records, prepares payment reminders and takes attendance, with approvals the club controls, by chat or by voice.
- Clubs whose staff or families prefer Spanish or Portuguese: the interface and the assistant work in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and each person picks their language.
What Widdo does not do
Worth knowing before you switch:
- Card and ACH payments are for US clubs and go to the club's own Stripe account: the club connects its own Stripe account and pays Stripe's processing fee (Widdo takes 0%). Refunds and disputes are handled from the club's Stripe dashboard.
- Widdo does not build public club websites, livestream games or run background checks.
- Widdo is a young product. It does not have the track record, integrations or third-party reviews of platforms that have served clubs for many years.

Common questions
Is Widdo cheaper than PlayMetrics?
It depends on your club. Widdo costs $99 a month for up to 80 players (Starter), $249 a month for up to 200 players (Pro), $499 a month for up to 500 players (Enterprise), and adds a 0% platform fee to dues. PlayMetrics's published pricing is summarized in the table above with its source; where PlayMetrics does not publish a price or a processing rate, ask them for a quote and compare the total for a full season.
Can families pay club dues by card in Widdo?
Yes, in US clubs. Once the club connects its own Stripe account, families pay by card, ACH, Apple Pay or Google Pay straight to that account. Widdo takes 0%; Stripe's processing fee is paid by the club, and the club can turn online payments off at any time. Zelle, Venmo, bank transfer and cash keep working with receipts the club approves.
Does Widdo work in Spanish?
Yes. The interface and the AI assistant work in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Each staff member and parent can use their own language, and US clubs still see US pricing in USD.
